A vinyl surface may look normal while the question concerns the layer beneath it. Neither appearance nor the type of finish alone determines whether replacement is necessary.
What should an on-site assessment record?
Ask where moisture was observed, which substrate was examined and how the professional decided whether to dry or remove it. Do not pull up an edge or walk through water to supply a measurement. EPA's warning about flooded wall cavities illustrates a general limit of surface appearance; it is not a vinyl-floor diagnostic rule.
Stay away from the affected area, do not touch electrical switches, outlets or appliances near water, and call a professional. If anyone is in danger, leave the area and call 911.
Which tasks deserve separate proposal lines?
Source correction, evaluating the assembly, any drying, removal, disposal and reinstallation can be distinct charges. Ask whether the new surface includes work below it. A reading guide helps compare written scopes, while the calculator models only published categories.
Can this website declare the floor safe?
No. An independent provider must assess conditions in person and discuss the material findings with the homeowner; this site has not seen the floor.
Calls go to voicemail, not a live provider. Messages are recorded and transcribed after the greeting. You can email us instead.
Free for homeowners. We may be paid for qualifying referral calls.
